Highlighting Content and Pedagogy in the Arizona Teacher Institute Master's Degree Program

Given that our first cohort of teachers is only half-way through the program all findings are preliminary. Our hypothesis is that comprehensive mathematics pedagogical instruction and a strong introduction to research in mathematics education improve teacher content knowledge and student achievement. We are using these preliminary findings to inform our ongoing work, but not to make definitive claims about the impact of the ATI project.
